As a non-profit organization LPI relies on the efforts of numerous volunteers from around the world. To assist with this effort LPI also has staff and contractors who ensure the daily operations of the organization.

Jim Lacey
President and CEO

Jim is the President and CEO of the Linux Professional Institute with affiliate organizations in more than 20 countries. Jim's experience is in managing and building international organizations with specific focus on channel development within the IT training and certification industry. His past roles include: General Manager of Linuxcare University (Linuxcare Corporation), Director of Operations and Regional Training Director for the Technology Training Division of CompUSA, and Territory Sales Manager with Serono Diagnostics (Ares-Serono Group, Switzerland) and Polaroid-Behring Diagnostics. Jim served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
Darrell Flewell
Chief Financial Officer

A CMA with a wide background in senior level financial planning and accounting for enterprise companies and small businesses. Darrell is responsible for LPI's budget, contracts and financial, legal, and regulatory compliance processes. He is a Certified Management Accountant with a background in senior level financial planning and accounting for both medium and large enterprise companies. As CFO, Darrell is responsible for managing the financial risks of the organization and implementation of its strategic objectives. Darrell is also responsible for financial planning and record keeping, financial analysis and reporting to executive management and the Board of Directors, as well as legal and regulatory compliance processes.

Gen is Chairman and founder of LPI-Japan. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Linux Professional Institute since 2000.
Jose Carlos Gouveia
Vice-President, Business Development: Latin America
Sao Paulo, Brazil
Jose Carlos has held senior IT executive positions throughout Latin Ameirca including more recently as Area General Manager for Latin America for SGI-Silicon Graphics. He has also worked as a General Manager for Novell, Platinum Technologies, PeopleSoft and J.D.Edwards in the region and as a director for Anderson Consulting (Accenture) and Dun & Bradstreet Software.
John Meaney
Vice-President, Business Development: Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

John is responsible for leading LPI activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has many years of experience in developing and managing IT businesses throughout the EMEA region.
Hali Tsang
VP, APAC Business Development
Asia
Hali is responsible for leading the LPI activities in Greater China and Asia Pacific region. Hali has been in the IT industry for over 30 years. She has extensive experience in sales and operations.

Ross Brunson
Director of Member Services

Ross has over 15 years experience as a Linux trainer and is author of the popular "LPIC-1 Exam Cram" (QUE Publishing). Ross Brunson most recently served as a Social Media Consultant and Linux Solutions Specialist with Novell architecting Open Source-based enterprise solutions. Past experience as a trainer and IT courseware developer include the following: Thomson Learning/Wave/SAIR Inc., Computer Associates, Platinum Technologies and Learning Tree International. Ross holds a number of key IT certifications and is also author of several successful technical books, dozens of technical courses for major organizations (including the first LPI Certification Bootcamp) and is skilled at both contributing to and building community around IT products.
Brooke Gresham
Operational Support Manager

Brooke brings to the position over 15 years experience in overall office management and an extensive background in high level channel support and customer service. Brooke has overall responsibility for exam fulfillment, PBT scoring, and candidate and affiliate support.

Scott has over 25 years experience in communications for non-profit organizations, private business and the wider public sector. Scott is responsible for LPI's public relations, media and corporate communications.
Medina Dupuis

Medina is manager of special projects at LPI and has been with the Canadian office since 2005. A seasoned entrepreneur, Medina brings a wide range of operational experience and project management skills to bear on operational processes and product development at LPI.
G. Matthew Rice
Director of Product Development

Matthew has overall responsibility for all Product Development at LPI. Matthew is a seasoned Linux systems administrator and programmer and has been involved with LPI since 1999.
Kevin Glendenning

Kevin oversees LPI's technical requirements and infrastructure. Kevin's team of administrators and developers at Starnix Inc. has been providing professional Linux solutions for LPI since 1999.
