LPI Announces Linux Essentials for North America

(Columbus, OH and Sacramento, CA, USA: September 29, 2012) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced during Ohio LinuxFest 2012 in Columbus, Ohio (OLF) that LPI's Linux Essentials program measuring foundational knowledge in Linux and Open Source Software is now available in North America. Linux Essentials was initially released as a pilot program in Europe, the Middle East and Africa but due to popular demand has now expanded to North America.

SUSECon is the first annual global conference for SUSE customers, partners and community enthusiasts. LPI supports Software Freedom Day in Kenya with Linux Essentials

LPI-East Africa is also co-sponsoring an "Open Source Developer Challenge" during the event with the Linux Professional Association of Kenya (http://lpakenya.org/).  

LPI Forum in Warsaw, Poland

Linux Essentials Program Available Now

(Sacramento, CA, USA: June 27, 2012) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced that Linux Essentials, which introduces new users and youth to Linux and Open Source Software, is now available at select LPI affiliate locations and IT events in Europe, Middle East and Africa. The single Linux Essentials' exam leads to a "Certificate of Achievement".

LPI Announces "School-to-Work" Program in Spain

(Sacramento, CA, USA and Madrid, Spain: June 21, 2012) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced an innovative "School-to-Work" Linux training and certification program in Spain sponsored by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and the European Social Fund. This program, led by Spanish secondary schools and LPI-Spain, will initially prepare 300 students in careers as Linux professionals and IT trainers.
