Be a Linux Essentials "Hero"

Last month ( LPI issued a call for volunteers for the first "beta" exams for the Linux Professionals Institute's "Linux Essentials" program during LinuxTag, May 23-26 in Berlin, Germany. To date 20 "heros" have registered to participate.

In addition LPI now has "beta" exam events for Linux Essentials at the following locations:

LPI-Nigeria (May 12 - June 12):  Locations and dates TBA on LPI-Nigeria website (  Alternatively, email

LPI-Central Europe: Upcoming "beta" exam events at Winterthur, Switzerland (ZLI Zürcher Lehrbetriebsverband ICT) and Munich, Germany (Städtische Berufsschule für Informationstechnik) for LPI Approved Academic Partners.  To date 40 "heros" are participating in these events.  A further beta exam event is planned for June 1st in Berlin (OSZ IMT)  

LPI-Italy: On May 29th a "beta" exam event will be held in Rome by LPI-Italy's training partner ITHUM (  Registration for this event in Rome is:  A second "beta" exam event is being planned for Florence.  For more information see:

LPI-UK: "beta" exam event in Birmingham, England on May 21st at Birmingham City University.

LPI welcomes schools, colleges, universities and training organizations to work with local LPI affiliates to host "beta" exam events.  In particular, we are looking for interested event "hosts" in the Middle East and North America.  Please contact if you are interested in hosting a "beta" event.
