SUMMARY:FOSSCOMM 2026: LPI Offers Exam Discounts
DESCRIPTION:Join FOSSCOMM 2026\, the annual in-person gathering for Greece’s free and open source software (FOSS) community\, in Athens from October 31 to November 1\, 2026\, and receive a 20% discount on Linux Professional Institute (LPI) exams. \nRunning since 2008\, FOSSCOMM is a free\, volunteer-driven FOSS event that brings together IT professionals\, academics\, students\, teachers\, and people who are new to open source. The event provides a space for the Greek open source community to share knowledge\, discuss open technologies\, and connect with others. \nLPI has a long-standing connection with the open source community in Greece and works with local organizations on Linux and FOSS education and skills development. LPI actively collaborates with partners including GreekLUG (Greek Association of Free Software / Open Source Software Users) and the Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS). \nIn 2025\, LPI and GFOSS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on preparing learners in Greece for open source careers through integrated curriculum and certification programs in Linux and FOSS. The partnership is creating opportunities for learners to develop practical skills and earn internationally recognized certifications. \nSavvas Adamtziloglou from GreekLUG will also be at FOSSCOMM 2026. \nAttendees can learn more about LPI certifications and opportunities to develop their Linux and open source skills. The 20% exam discount gives FOSSCOMM participants a chance to earn an LPI certification and take the next step in their open source careers. \nFOSSCOMM 2026 is open to the public. \nTo learn more and register\, visit the event website: https://2026.fosscomm.gr/

The program runs across one week: \n\nNovember 14: the on-site conference at Hotel ONOMO in Douala\, with keynotes\, talks\, panels\, workshops and networking\nNovember 16-19: live online sessions in French and English\, open to participants anywhere\, with attendance counting toward the event certificate and CPE credits\nNovember 20-22: EyesOpenCTF 2026\, 48 hours of online competition\n\nAccess is free through the EOCON Community Pass\, and EyesOpenCTF is free to enter. \n20% Discount on LPI Certifications\nEOCON 2026 and EyesOpenCTF 2026 participants receive a 20% discount on one LPI certification exam. The discount is shared with participants by the organizers. \nFor a community built on practical skills\, it is a natural next step: a week of hands-on security work\, followed by a globally recognized\, vendor-neutral credential that proves it. \nEyesOpenCTF 2026\nLaunched as Central Africa’s first cybersecurity competition\, EyesOpenCTF is today the region’s largest open-access cybersecurity competition. From November 20 to 22\, participants compete online across more than 40 challenges in 8 disciplines: Web Security\, Binary Exploitation\, Digital Forensics\, Cryptography\, Log Analysis\, AI Security\, Reverse Engineering and OSINT. Around 500 competitors are expected\, from beginners to advanced practitioners. \nFocus and Audience\nThe 2026 program focuses on practical cybersecurity\, AI\, emerging threats\, infrastructure\, AppSec\, digital forensics\, cloud\, resilience\, talent development and the future of Africa’s digital ecosystem. EOCON expects around 200 participants on site in Douala and 1\,000 online. \nThe audience brings together cybersecurity professionals\, SOC analysts\, pentesters\, developers\, cloud and infrastructure practitioners\, students\, researchers\, executives\, employers and international technical communities. \nLPI as Media Partner\nLinux and open source run through every discipline of a modern CTF\, from exploitation and forensics to log analysis and reverse engineering. That is why EOCON and EyesOpenCTF speak directly to the LPI community\, and why LPI supports them: practical security skills\, open access\, and a strong connection between Africa and the global cybersecurity ecosystem. \nAbout EOCON\nEOCON is a bilingual\, hybrid international convention connecting cybersecurity professionals\, technology companies\, decision-makers\, students and technical communities around cybersecurity\, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. SUMMARY:LPI at ACTE CareerTech VISION 2026: Open Source Careers for CTE
DESCRIPTION:December 2-5\, 2026\nNew Orleans\, Louisiana\, United States\nErnest N. Morial Convention Center\n\nLinux Professional Institute (LPI) will participate in ACTE’s CareerTech VISION 2026\, the premier event for career and technical education (CTE) professionals and the centerpiece of ACTE’s centennial celebration marking 100 years of leadership\, innovation\, and impact in CTE. \nCareerTech VISION convenes more than 6\,000 secondary and postsecondary educators\, business leaders\, and industry experts from around the world. This four-day event represents the largest annual gathering in the CTE community\, bringing together the decision-makers and educators who define curricula for career-related training programs across the United States. \nLPI and Career Technical Education \nCareer and Technical Education programs prepare students for high-demand careers across industries increasingly dependent on technology infrastructure. Linux and open source skills represent essential foundations for technology career pathways\, from IT administration and cybersecurity to cloud computing and DevOps. \nLPI will showcase certification pathways\, learning materials\, and career opportunities in the open source industry. The event provides an opportunity to connect with CTE program leaders who are shaping workforce development curricula and preparing students for technology careers. \nVendor-Neutral Credentials for CTE Programs \nLPI’s vendor-neutral approach aligns naturally with CTE program objectives. Institutions can integrate globally recognized Linux and open source certifications into career pathways without committing to single-vendor technology stacks. This flexibility allows programs to focus on foundational skills while giving students credentials valued across industries. \nLPI provides learning materials\, exam delivery\, and credential management that integrate with existing CTE infrastructure\, reducing implementation barriers for schools and colleges. \nHonoring a Century of Career Education \nCareerTech VISION 2026 honors ACTE’s legacy while engaging with leaders and experts shaping the future of education and workforce development. The centennial celebration recognizes CTE’s critical role in preparing students for meaningful careers and addressing workforce needs across sectors. \nVisit the LPI booth to explore how Linux and open source certification can strengthen your CTE program’s technology career pathways and student outcomes. \n\nEvent website:\n\nhttps://www.careertechvision.com/
