This flagship annual event brings together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and community representatives to shape the future of open source in Europe\u2019s digital strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 edition, themed <em>Digital Sovereignty Runs on Open Source<\/em>, will explore how open collaboration drives competitiveness, resilience, and innovation across critical sectors \u2014 from cloud and AI to automotive software, cybersecurity, and public digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the day, participants will engage with key topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open source as the foundation of Europe\u2019s digital sovereignty and innovation capacity.<\/li>\n<li>Security and sustainability in light of the Cyber Resilience Act and the European Sovereign Tech Fund.<\/li>\n<li>Trusted open infrastructure for AI, identity, and public services.<\/li>\n<li>The role of public sector OSPOs in institutional capability building.<\/li>\n<li>The case for a Fourth European Standardisation Organisation to support open development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a <strong>Bronze Sponsor<\/strong>, LPI continues to support the Summit\u2019s mission to connect open source with European policymaking and institutional practice.
