Abstract: Almost every day we hear about some type of data theft, break-in or ransomware attack.\u00a0 The Internet, and the need to connect to it, opens up our systems to attack vectors that we could not even dream of in 1969 when I started programming. Today, however, we need to use tools to make our systems really safe, and the tools that are the most flexible and quickest to fix are part of Free and Open Source Software, Hardware and Culture (FOSSHC).<\/p>\n

This talk will begin to orient you to the specific tools you can use and how to use them to protect yourself (and others) from the bad guys.<\/p>\n
