LPI, Open Ireland Network Partner to Advance FOSS

Toronto, 2026-07-14 — Linux Professional Institute (LPI) is pleased to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Open Ireland Network. The goal is to expand Ireland’s community of professionals trained and certified in free and open source software (FOSS) through education and skills assessment in Linux and other technologies based on open source.

The partnership aims to promote open source as a driver of innovation, recognizing that proficiency in these technologies is essential for advancing digital progress. Under the agreement, the organizations will work together to strengthen the Linux and open source ecosystem and encourage the adoption of open source solutions in digital transformation initiatives, local and national.

LPI and Open Ireland Network will also collaborate on technical and educational initiatives that support professional growth, with a focus on Linux, open source software, and open source hardware technologies. The organizations will share resources, knowledge, and expertise to advance training, certification, and the broader adoption of Linux and open source technologies in Ireland.
