In these environments, Linux acts as a unifying factor, making it possible to maintain the same tools, competencies, and management model across traditional data centers and public cloud environments. This continuity reduces dependency on vendors and third parties, making the infrastructure more resilient, adaptable, and sustainable over the long term.
Reducing operational friction within complex infrastructures: this is what Linux does best. Its widespread adoption in servers and distributed systems derives from the ability to offer predictable, controllable, and consistent behavior over time, even as scale grows. It is this structural reliability, more than any single technology, that makes Linux a fundamental component of the infrastructures on which today’s services and platforms are built.
