As part of its 25th-anniversary celebrations, Linux Professional Institute (LPI) launched the “Switch to Linux” campaign to promote open source adoption and assist individuals in their professional development. The campaign offers a 25% discount on the Linux Essentials exam for participants who share their switch from a proprietary operating system to Linux on social media using the hashtags #upgradetolinux, #switchtolinux, and #LPI25. Anyone who still wants to participate should hurry, since the campaign ends on October 31.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who has already taken part. By sharing your switch, you’ve inspired others to explore Linux, strengthened the open source community, and reminded the world that choice and independence in technology matter. The Switch to Linux campaign has resonated globally, with lots of individuals sharing their transitions to Linux. LPI’s social media platforms witnessed millions of impressions, reflecting widespread enthusiasm and engagement among the wider public.
Anyone interested in contributing to the Open Source community is encouraged to check out the Upgrade to Linux initiative, where volunteers and partners share information about how to adopt Linux. This initiative not only gives an incentive to newcomers but fosters a sense of community among Linux enthusiasts.
The “Switch to Linux” campaign officially ends October 31st, 2025. If you would like to participate and receive a 25% discount coupon for the Linux Essentials exam, please visit lpi.org/lpi25 for more information.
