LPI Japan Branch Hosts Partner Meeting 2026

In April 2026, the LPI Japan Branch hosted the “LPI Japan Partner Meeting 2026” at Fujisoft Akiba Plaza. The event was held for partner companies in Japan as well as organizations, educational institutions, and businesses considering partnership with LPI. The event was free of charge and welcomed a large number of participants.

The meeting was organized to share the latest updates from LPI, deepen understanding of its future initiatives, and strengthen collaboration among partners.

 

At the opening of the event, Kenji Ito, Communication Director of the LPI Japan Branch, delivered welcoming remarks and introduced new members of the Japan team.

This was followed by a presentation from G. Matthew Rice, Executive Director of LPI, who shared the latest updates on LPI’s strategic direction and upcoming exam developments.

 

Mac “Magic” Wichary, Representative and Executive Director of OpenEDG, a global partner of LPI, introduced the Python certification program.

Presentations were also delivered by partner organizations.

Takashi Sugimoto, Representative of Aloft Logic, together with Makoto Ohno, Global Sales Director at LPI, presented a session titled:
“Challenges and Solutions for Human Resource Development in the Cloud Era from the Perspective of an AWS Certified Instructor – LPI Security Essentials as a Key Piece to Fill the Missing Link.”
They discussed the challenges of developing talent in the cloud era and explored practical solutions.

Additionally, Hirochika Takenaka from the Learning Support Department, Solution Division of Sakura Internet Inc., presented a session titled:
“Challenges in Learning and the Expansion of Domestic Cloud Services,” highlighting initiatives in domestic cloud development and education.

The presentations attracted strong interest from attendees and provided valuable insights into LPI initiatives and partner case studies.

Following the sessions, a Partner Award ceremony was held, after which a networking reception took place. The reception provided an excellent opportunity for participants to connect, exchange information, and foster new collaborations.

The LPI Japan Branch will continue to work closely with its partners to support IT talent development and promote open source technologies.
