Software Freedom Day is an international effort to inform people about software freedom: the ability to use and change software to meet your needs instead of purchasing commercial software and using it.
Started by Matt Oquist in the early 2000s, it rapidly grew into a worldwide community effort. In this video Matt talks about how he originated the idea and how he and his friends made it happen.
