Duffy is a business leader at IBM with over 17 years of technology industry experience who is known for solving clients problems, turning around underperforming business units, designing and building innovative systems, and growing ecosystems in emerging markets. His skill set includes competencies in gamification, open source, Mobile, Cloud, Big Data and Social Business. He has run sales teams across the IBM SW portfolio and has delivered training throughout the world. As an accomplished and recognized speaker, Duffy has addressed the United Nations and been the key note speaker at several global conferences. Currently, he runs developer outreach and marketing for developerWorks, reaching 4 million developers a month. Prior to joining IBM, Duffy received his Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird and his Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University. Jim Lacey, President and CEO
Jim is the President and CEO of the Linux Professional Institute with affiliate organizations in more than 20 countries. Jim's experience is in managing and building international organizations with specific focus on channel development within the IT training and certification industry. His past roles include: General Manager of Linuxcare University (Linuxcare Corporation), Director of Operations and Regional Training Director for the Technology Training Division of CompUSA, and Territory Sales Manager with Serono Diagnostics (Ares-Serono Group, Switzerland) and Polaroid-Behring Diagnostics. Jim served as a Captain in the U.S. Army and graduated with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
Gen is CEO of Leading Edge Co. Ltd., which he founded in July, 2000. Gen has served as the Sales and Marketing Manager at Digital Equipment Corporation Japan, Vice President for General International Area Education and Consulting Services, Digital Equipment Corporation-USA and as Vice-President of Nihon Silicon Graphics (currently SGI Japan). Gen established LPI Japan in April, 1999. Gen graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University in Kansas.
Torsten works as a software engineer for 20/10 Perfect Vision Optische Geräte GmbH, a company focused on innovative concepts in corneal laser surgery, located in Heidelberg, Germany. His job involves real-time software research & development using Free Software technologies. Prior to juggling with microseconds he developed his Linux skills along with electronic trading and ERP systems for S.O.T. GmbH. He holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Cooperative Education Mosbach and an MSc Management from the University of Glamorgan Business School.
As an "enthGNUsiast", Torsten supports the Free Software movement and champions the Free Software application stack and open standards wherever proprietary operating systems remain. He drives regional LUG activities and spreads the word through articles and talks.
In 1999 Torsten was looking for a "Linux degree" to challenge his Linux skills and eventually he found LPI. Since LPI's initial exam release Torsten has become deeply involved as participant in mailing lists and voluntary staff member.
