LPI at the Connected Africa Summit 2026

- April 27-30, 2026
- Nairobi, Kenya
- The Edge Convention Centre
Linux Professional Institute (LPI) will participate in the Connected Africa Summit 2026, a landmark event uniting African tech leaders, policymakers, and investors to shape Africa’s digital transformation.
Building on previous editions, the 2026 summit focuses on actionable outcomes aligned with the African Union’s Digital Transformation Strategy for Africa 2020-2030. The event will launch the Connected Africa Secretariat, chaired by Kenya, ensuring sustained progress toward a unified, innovative, and sustainable digital continent.
Summit Scale and Focus
The summit brings together 1,500+ delegates from 30+ countries, including Ministers of ICT and Communication, ambassadors, principal secretaries, and top industry leaders. The event features eight thematic areas critical to Africa’s digital future: AI and Advanced Computing, Climate Tech and Green Digital Innovation, Digital Sovereignty and Infrastructure, Immersive Technologies, Human Capital and Future of Work, Digital Infrastructure for Urban-Rural Convergence, Tech Diplomacy, and the Creative Economy.
The summit also incorporates practical continental building blocks including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Digital Trade Protocol and the African Union Data Policy Framework.
LPI Presence and Business Engagement in Kenya
LPI will be represented at the summit through its Channel Partner, LANet Consulting Group (LCG), led by Evans Ikua. LCG represents LPI across the greater Eastern Africa region.
LPI has a strong track record supporting government initiatives in Kenya through partnership with the Kenya ICT Authority under the Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP), providing training and certification to support open source adoption in the public sector.
The summit provides an important opportunity for LPI to:
- Engage with government stakeholders and industry leaders on open source skills certification
- Explore partnership opportunities with governments and institutions developing ICT training programs
- Conduct business discussions with potential partners across Eastern Africa
- Support Kenya’s ongoing computerization efforts guided by the Kenya ICT Masterplan
Visit the LPI booth to learn how Linux and open source certification can enhance workforce development, career opportunities, and support large-scale digital education initiatives across Africa.
