Join Linux Professional Institute (LPI) at the UN Tech Over Hackathon, a premier gathering for open source enthusiasts. The event brings together over 150 global technologists, along with partners and mentors from the UN, private sector, and civil society, to develop innovative open source solutions for real-world challenges identified by UN agencies.

LPI is proud to collaborate with The Apache Software Foundation, the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), and UNICEF as official partners of this impactful initiative.

Event Highlights

The UN Tech Over Hackathon focuses on the role of open source technology in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It promotes collaboration and showcases the power of open collaboration to tackle critical global issues.

Participants will be challenged in areas including:

  • Data analytics development
  • Methodology and script development
  • Pure software development (Django, Python, React)

This hackathon launches the UN Open Source Week. The UN Open Source Principles were recently published to foster collaboration and global adoption of open source technologies — a mission shared by LPI. LPI proudly endorsed these principles early on.
