Linux Professional Institute (LPI) is proud to participate in the EU Open Source Policy Summit 2026, organised by OpenForum Europe. This flagship annual event brings together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and community representatives to shape the future of open source in Europe’s digital strategy.

The 2026 edition, themed Digital Sovereignty Runs on Open Source, will explore how open collaboration drives competitiveness, resilience, and innovation across critical sectors — from cloud and AI to automotive software, cybersecurity, and public digital infrastructure.

Throughout the day, participants will engage with key topics such as:

  • Open source as the foundation of Europe’s digital sovereignty and innovation capacity.
  • Security and sustainability in light of the Cyber Resilience Act and the European Sovereign Tech Fund.
  • Trusted open infrastructure for AI, identity, and public services.
  • The role of public sector OSPOs in institutional capability building.
  • The case for a Fourth European Standardisation Organisation to support open development.

As a Bronze Sponsor, LPI continues to support the Summit’s mission to connect open source with European policymaking and institutional practice. This partnership reflects LPI’s commitment to fostering open, secure, and transparent digital ecosystems through skills development, education, and certification.

The event will take place in person in Brussels and be accessible online for remote participants. Attendance is by invitation, with free access for virtual participants.
