At Linux Professional Institute (LPI), we are committed to providing the highest standards of certification to support your business and the growth of the open source community. To ensure that our credentials remain aligned with the rapidly evolving tech landscape, we are pleased to announce the transition of the Linux Essentials exam from Version 1.6 to Version 2.0.
We want to ensure that you, as a valued partner, have the technical insights needed to prepare your candidates. The update introduces key changes to reflect modern market demands. Among major changes, we have:
- Added SSH and using Linux in the cloud
- Updated our list of Linux distributions and open source applications
- Added systemd service units
- Replaced syslog with systemd journal
- Added “if” conditions to shell scripting
- Replaced net-utils with iproute2
