Linux Professional Institute revising LPIC-1 and LPIC-304 Certification Programs to Evolve with New Linux Skills Requirements in IT Workforce
(Sacramento, CA, USA: February 12, 2014) The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), the world's premier Linux certification organization, announced upcoming changes to their LPIC-1 and LPIC-304 certification programs. New objectives for these certifications are presently under development with the input of the professional Linux community. LPI will rollout the new exams in English starting January 1st, 2015. Additional information on the release schedule of updated non-English language exams and pricing is not yet available.

The Job Task Analysis for the new objectives for the LPIC-1 and LPIC-304 exams will continue through May 31st, 2014. Beta exams with these revised objectives will be available starting on June 1st, 2014 and will continue through September 30th, 2014. Existing versions of the LPIC-1 and LPIC-304 exams will be available during a six-month transition period once the new exams are released in early 2015.
