Linux Professional Institute (LPI) is pleased to participate in FrOSCon 2026, one of Germany’s most important community-driven open source conferences.
FrOSCon brings together 3,500+ attendees, including IT professionals, students, educators, business leaders, and hobbyists, for two days of talks, workshops, and community networking. The event is free and open to the public.

Paper-Based Exam Sessions with Special Pricing
LPI will offer paper-based certification exams at discounted rates, made possible by our valued Channel Partners Open Source Certification GmbH (OSC) and Werner Fischer.
Discounted exam pricing (paper-based exams only):
- €70 for Linux Essentials, Web Development Essentials, Security Essentials, and Open Source Essentials
- €110 for all professional-level certification exams (LPIC-1, LPIC-2, LPIC-3, DevOps Tools Engineer, BSD Specialist)
This represents a 40% discount on standard pricing, sponsored by our partners.
Exam sessions:
- Saturday, August 15, 10:30 (Registration from 10:00)
- Saturday, August 15, 14:30 (Registration from 14:00)
- Sunday, August 16, 10:30 (Registration from 10:00)
Exams are held in Room B118. Since seats are limited, pre-registration is recommended, though walk-ins will be accommodated if space allows.
Exam requirements:
- Arrive at the meeting point 30 minutes before exam start
- Be in the exam room 15 minutes before exam start
- Bring government-issued photo ID (passport, ID card, or driver’s license)
- Bring LPI ID and exam fee in cash
Available exams: Linux Essentials, Web Development Essentials, Security Essentials (English and German), Open Source Essentials (English only), LPIC-1, LPIC-2 (English and German), LPIC-3, DevOps Tools Engineer, BSD Specialist (English only).
LPI representatives Björn Schönewald, Michael Gisbers, Dirk Streubel, and Reiner Brandt will be on site throughout the event.
