Retaking Policy

7 Days

Anyone who takes an LPI exam once must wait one week before re-taking . (If you took exam on Monday and fail, you can retake it on next Monday.)

30 Days

Anyone who takes an LPI exam a second (and subsequent) time must wait 30 days before re-taking.

Version

Different versions of an exam are still considered the same exam for the purposes above. For example, the 101-400(LPIC-1 101 Ver 4.0) and 101-500(LPIC-1 101 Ver 5.0) are both considered the same exam in the scope of this retake policy.

Note: If you take the exam in spite of against retaking policy, whether you tend to or not, we cannot do anything for you. Read here for details.

Recertificate

5 Years

To RETAIN an ACTIVE certification status, a certification holder is REQUIRED to recertify within 5 years of the certification designation. For example, candidate passed exam on 2015/9/8, it will be inactive on 2020/9/8.

The Top Level

If you recertified the top level that you have, the lower level is recertified automatically.

LPIC-3

For example, 300 is not recertified even if you recertified 303. 300, 303, 304 are considered as the same level.

Note: If you once get LPIC-3 inactive, you have to retake every exam to make it active again. We cannot help about this so please make sure to recertificate within 5 years.
